NB: Regardless of the above delegations, all Council officers, particularly those who have staff reporting to them, are expected to help ensure the Council’s compliance with employment related legislation.
Execute individual Employment Agreement.
Suspend (with/without pay) other than a striking employee (see delegation of s 87 of the Employment Relations Act).
Terminate employment.
Salary/wage increase or other changes in benefits.
Lead employment negotiations, including restructuring.
Authorise staff training/attendances at conferences.
Power to recruit, negotiate and enter into employment agreements for positions that have received prior approval from the Executive Leadership Team, and to sign all associated documentation;
Power to nominate any direct-report to recruit, negoiatiate and enter into employment agreements for positions that have received prior approval from the Executive Leadership Team, and to sign all associated documentation.
