Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965

The delegations made are those of the Council as a "controlling authority". Note that these Regulations are treated under s218 of the Land Transport Act 1998 as being made under that Act

Regs 3,4, 5 & 7

Duty to give the requisite public notice of the intended road closure for the purposes specified and calling for objections from affected persons;

Power to decide to close a road to ordinary traffic for the purposes and subject to the provisions specified, where no objections are received and in accordance with the Council’s policy on road closures; duty to give public notification of decision in the prescribed form.

Duty to give requisite public notification of decision to close road.

Power to issue a permit for the use of vehicle(s) on a road closed under the regulations.
