Affixing the Common Seal

Delegations relating to the application of the Council's Common Seal.

The application of the Common Seal is limited to situations where it is specifically required under an enactment.

    Summary of Function or Power

    Authority to apply the Common Seal when required under an enactment.

    Restrictions:

    a. The common seal must be applied by any two of the delegates; this power cannot be sub-delegated.  

    b. The power to affix the common seal to a Deed is not delegated.  Deeds must be executed by 2 elected members.
