Rating Valuations Act 1998

Duty (as local authority) to collect and provide to the Valuer-General such information as the Valuer-General thinks fit. 

Duties (as territorial authority) in reltion to preparing and maintaining district valuation rolls.

Duty (as local authority) to notify the Valuer-General of each person or body who is to undertake valuation services in the manner specified. 

Duty (as territorial authority) to revise its district valuation roll in the manner prescribed; Duty (as territorial authority) to advise the Valuer-General of general revaluation. 

Duty (as territorial authority) to supply to the Valuer-General information as specified. 

Duty (as territorial authority) to give public notice as prescribed; in relation to general revaluation of its district valuation roll. Duty (as territorial authority) to keep the roll avinclude the information specified and keep available for public inspection. 

Duty (as territorial authority) to give notice of the valuation to the owner of each rating unit and ratepayer in the form prescribed. 

Powers and duties (as territorial authority) to make alterations to current district valuation roll and notify alterations to all other local authorities. 

Power (as territorial authority) to backdate entries on the district valuation roll in certain circumstances. 

Powers and duties (as territorial authority) to make a new valuation of a rating unit if requested to do so by a ratepayer; require ratepayer to pay the reasonable costs of the valuation; make a new valuation in accordance with the rules and to notify applicant as prescribed. 

Duty (as territorial authority) to give the owner of each rating unit and the ratepayer a notice as prescribed. 

Duty (as territorial authority) to refer an objection made to a registered valuer or other person of a class specified in the rules; On conclusion of the review, power to determine to alter or decline to alter the valuation as prescribed. 

Duty (as territorial authority) to give the objector written notice of the matters specified and notify the owner and ratepayer of the rating unit of the matters specified. 

Powers and duties (as territorial authority dissatisfied with a review under s34) to require the objection to be heard by a Land Valuation Tribunal in the manner prescribed; and to serve copy of the objection on the persons specified.

Duty (as territorial authority) to alter its district valuation roll to reflect any decision of a Land Valuation Tribunal unless circumstances described apply. 

Power (as territorial authority) to set, assess and recover rates on the valuation fixed by the decision of the Land Valuation Tribunal in circumstances described. 

Duty (as territorial authority) to supply a certified copy of any entry in its district valuation roll as specified. 

Duty (as territorial authority) to keep and maintain all information and documents required to be kept and maintained as prescribed. 

Duty (as territorial authority) to consult with and have regard to the views of the regional council in determining generally how to undertake its valuation services and to provide a copy of its district valuation roll as described. 

Duty (as territorial authority)to give notice in accordance with substantive and procedural requirements set out where a notice is required to be given.
